You're a hard habit to break

Name that Artist...thats right, Chicago.

So there we were, in the greater Chicago area, trying to find this car. We were literally 3 miles from our exit when we hit the traffic jam. Like...JAM. We were stopped, people were getting out of their cars...frustration. Anyway, because people in Illinois don't know how to engineer things, there was not ONE SINGLE SIGN for I-394 anywhere on the expressway, until the freeway split and we went north and saw the sign for an exit like 100 yards ahead. At this point we were already in way too deep. That area seriously must be undrr construction all the time. There weren't even signs...just barrels and debris EVERYWHERE. We went from ghetto to high-class in about a 1/2 mile stretch, and we even hit a two-lane road for a while in the middle of the Gary, Indiana residue.

Anyway, it was so annoying that I'm having a hard time describing. Immediately upon getting into the car I knew I didn't want it, but we went ahead and graced the girl with a test-drive just to be nice. (We actually were an hour late....but as it turns out we picked up an hour on the drive, so we were actually on time...and had to wait for HER. We didn't figure this out until about 10 minutes after we arrived...nextels are a beautiful thing). So anyway, we busted out of My projects ASAP and made a run for the Michigan border. Thats right, we were going to tryto make it to softball in Freeport.

Well, we stopped and got some driving fuel, namely ham sandwiches and milks, and set off on our quest. It literally rained from Indiana ALL THE WAY to Freeport. Never stopped, not even once. We aren't talking sprinkles here either, serious rain all the way to M6. Most people would give up the dream, but not Ben Vander Boon. He risked life and ticket to get me to Freeport, and I was 3 minutes later for a 9:10 game on a straight line from Glenwood. That was good.

We won in softball. Opie had a DEEP shot, at least 255, so good work by him. I may have broken my ankle again at basketball, so i was little slow, but all was well. 2 Game win streak.

Today it looks like i'm getting a tux and maybe being "VanderBoon Livestock" at the small animal sale. Yay!. G'day.

Find Peace. Find the Real.
