Time, Love, and Tenderness!

Since yesterday when Alan let me know of his love for Michael Bolton, i busted out the the good ol' CD. It is great. I makes me feel 6 years old again. Plus i have been watching The Big Green. Wow, i love the little fat goalie kid. What ever happened to that kid?

So my game plan for today is to lay out in the sun for 2 hours, then take a shower and go to 3 open houses i need to go to. (Alone because Rachel isn't home :-( ) Sweet. Then i am going to hang out with Val, i think anyway. She said she would call around 6:30 or so. But i dont really know what we are going to do, maybe just sit around and play games or something. Maybe go out on the lake. Who knows.

Work has been suprisingly workful lately. Not actually, if someone who actually did work was there watching, but because the first two days were so ridiculous, the last two have felt like. . . we were. . . doing something! AHHHHHHHHHH! Our supervisors were probably pissed off because we got so much done. Yesterday a miracle happened! Malcolm (our big boss man) told us at 1:30, that whenever we were done cleaning up for the party (100 years of MDOT celebration) we could go home and we'd still be paid for the rest of the day. WHAT? Was i dreaming? Was he kidding? Nope. We finished cleaning up in about 30 minutes, which probably could have been a world record. So by the time we got back, washed up in the slophaus and got going we had almost 3 hours of paid freedom! I think i might name one of my children Malcolm. But anyway, on Thurday i had to weed whip (whack) for 6 hours, and i enjoyed all of it. The only thing that sucked was that there were piles of rocks being shot back at us (god bless safety glasses). We pretty much are everyone's bitches though, and that gets annoying. Some lady came out of the regional office and was like, "Yeah, there's cobwebs on one of the windows. . . so if you could get that, that'd be greeeeeat." Cobweb? Who gives a shit? Appearently this lady. Ugh.

But i need to bask in the sun from my long hours of outside work with jeans and a t-shirt on. . . (and a vest and hard hat, but that is besides the point).

your MDOT employee- Abby
